Free Godot 4 Addon: ProtonScatter Procedural Prop Placement (HungryProton)
Preview from the original source by HungryProton

Overview

HungryProton shares ProtonScatter, an add-on for Godot 4 which automates the positioning of assets in a scene in a procedural, non-destructive way. A ProtonScatter node holds positioning rules edited in the inspector, in a panel similar to the modifier stack in Blender, while ScatterItem nodes select which assets to place and ScatterShape nodes define the area.

The showcase scene was composed entirely with ProtonScatter, with rocks placed first and trees and grass projected onto their colliders. The MIT-licensed add-on, mirrored from Codeberg, is a free download from GitHub.
