Free Nuke 12.2 Scripts: Multi-Pass CG Compositing Intro (Tony Lyons)
Original title: CG Compositing Series – 1.1 What and Why (Project Files)
Overview
These project files open Tony Lyons' CG Compositing Series with lesson 1.1, What and Why, saved from Nuke 12.2. The lesson explains what multi-pass renders are and why compositors use them, and the three demo scripts (WhatAndWhy_v04, SimpleColorWheelChannels and Simple3DExampleChannels) illustrate the channel structure of multipass CG without any extra gizmos.
The 1.2 MB zip with the three .nk files and the slideshow PDF is a free direct Google Drive download, and the FruitBowl renders from Redshift, Arnold and Octane (515 MB to 1.61 GB) are separate downloads. It is the right entry point for anyone new to CG compositing in Nuke.
