Overview
Split The Diff (Sebastian Schutt) offers the setup from episode 03 of his Unleash The Node series, a deconstruction setup of different edge extend techniques for getting rid of bright or dark edges while preserving as much detail as possible. The video covers blur and unpremult, vector extend, erode and dilate, paint and smear, keymixing versus keeping it in one node, restoring detail and Nuke's own Edge Extend node, using green screen footage from Tears of Steel.
The zip contains Edge_Extend_Setups.nk and the EXR frame it reads (Detail02.0001.exr). It is a free direct download from the downloads page of the author's site, with no sign-up.
