Overview

BooleanModeling.3dm is the starter file for the McNeel forum tutorial How to model a Camera in Rhino, shared by Jessesn Chen of McNeel and recommended for Rhino 8 or later (it was authored in the Rhino WIP). It contains grouped loft curves for a step-by-step solid-modeling exercise that uses Box, Loft, history-enabled BooleanDifference (DeleteInput=No), Revolve for the lens and FilletEdge to produce an editable camera body.

The small .3dm attachment (about 101 KB) is a free direct download from the forum thread, alongside the written steps. It is a good exercise for product designers learning history-driven boolean workflows in Rhino.

What You Can Learn

  • History-enabled BooleanDifference (DeleteInput=No) for an editable solid
  • Box, Loft, Revolve for the lens and FilletEdge in one camera body
