Free TouchDesigner Component: CMYK Halftone Dot Filter GLSL Print Effect (meatwithdreams)

Overview

meatwithdreams shares a CMYK Halftone Dot Filter in the Derivative community Asset section, made for promotional artwork with an old-magazine concept. It works at very high dot resolution for a realistic print-like texture or at very low resolution for a Roy Lichtenstein-style painterly effect, with the C, M, Y and K dot grids at different rotations as in real print.

The filter was prototyped as a node graph and then optimised into a single GLSL shader, with parameters for frequency, luminance or max-RGB black levels, per-channel balance, angles, offset, dot size and saturation. The component (cmyk.tox, 13.5 KB) is a free direct download.
