Epic Games offers Lyra Starter Game on Fab, a sample gameplay project released with UE5 as a starting point for new projects and a hands-on learning resource. It takes over the role ShooterGame served in UE4 and demonstrates scalability from mobile to high-end PC and cross-play multiplayer using Epic Online Services.

Players can choose between two game modes, Expanse (team deathmatch) and Convolution (control point), and play as the UE5 Mannequins Manny and Quinn, which share their core skeleton hierarchy with MetaHumans. The project is free with an Epic account through Fab, with versions for Unreal Engine 5.0 through 5.8, and its content is licensed for use only in Unreal Engine-based products.
