Free Nuke 6 Toolset: Frequency Separator for Beauty and Cleanup (Nick Pittas)
Original title: Frequency Separator
Overview
Nick Pittas shares a simple script that uses the frequency separation technique from Photoshop to split the image into texture and lighting passes so you can control each one separately. You can paint in the low frequency image to make lighting and chroma corrections, or paint the high frequency channel to fix texture details.
It has been updated with Simon Devault's Merge expression in place of the PSD merge operation. Nukepedia lists it for Nuke 6.0 or later, and it is free with a Nukepedia account.
