Autodesk publishes this roof sample file in the Revit 2026 help as a reference for basic roof shapes. It contains a hip roof, gable roof, shed roof, basic flat roof, a flat roof modified with a slope arrow, a flat roof modified with shape editing, a barrel vault, and a building that combines several roof types.

The help page explains which sketch edges are slope defining for each example and suggests selecting a roof and using Edit Boundary to see its sketch. The .rvt file is a free direct download from Autodesk's server with no sign-in.
