Overview

Autodesk provides these two sample files in the Revit 2026 help for studying stairs and railings. The stair sample contains sketch-based and component-based examples of stair types with a variety of construction methods and materials.

The railing sample contains railing types with a variety of railing and baluster patterns and materials. The help suggests using them as a reference for your own stair families or moving the types into a project with Transfer Project Standards, and both .rvt files are free direct downloads from Autodesk's server.
