Free Unity 2017.1 Tool: Skinner Skinned Mesh Particle and Trail Effects (Keijiro)

Original title: Skinner

Free Unity 2017.1 Tool: Skinner Skinned Mesh Particle and Trail Effects (Keijiro)
Preview from the original source by Keijiro Takahashi

Overview

Keijiro Takahashi shares Skinner, a collection of special effects that use vertices of an animating skinned mesh as emitting points. A special replacement shader converts vertex positions into GPU-friendly data, so the effects use GPU resources instead of extra memory and CPU time.

Skinner models and templates are preprocessed assets, and Skinner Source and Skinner Renderer components turn a deformed skinned mesh into particle and trail effects in the included demo scene. The project file is Unity 2017.1.0p3, a unitypackage is on the Releases page, and it is free under the MIT license.
